Wine Tasting and Discovering Hunter Valley

Checked out at Discovery Holiday park, and drive to Hunter Valley - Australia’s Oldest wine producing region and booming worldwide.

Ernest Hill Wines was the first tasting point , just a short drive north of Sydney.

A wonderful lady welcomed us whom we thought is the owner. There they offered wide variety of wines and first in line we tasted is the LUNAS PARK which are late picked semillion grapes used to produced MOSCATO style wines.

Earnest Hill Wines offer limited edition wines and they directly sell wines through mail order, online, and of course from their cellar.

Out in the vineyards you will see the vines playing in the air and seems welcoming the beginning of BUDBURST. We were not lucky to see fresh grapes growing but after all, we truly have a memorable visit of this area.

Next winery we spotted  was the TEMPUS TWO where we also had wine tasting, winery tours and  had a taste of different cheese which are also locally produced.

We then went looking for our cottage in Hunter Hideaway Cottages. The Hermitage cottage is fine. It had 2 bedrooms, kitchen, the toilet is big with hot and cold shower. The place is away from the highway which makes it good. It is quite and felt like we were in the middle of bushes.

We saw numerous kangaroos near our cottage. It was really amazing to see one in the wilds.

We had a bonfire that night. It was amazing. We felt like we were the only guest on Hunter Hideaway Cottages, it was quiet and relax just what we needed for the night.
We’re supposed to have dinner  outside while the roast lamb is on fire. However, it rained that night and we need to stay in. It still turns out to be a nice one toast with the new wine we had from hunter valley.

Next Day's Journery: As planned, we woke up early so we can be ahead on the road. We need to find wireless internet all over the place. Finally after wandering around the town for about 30 minutes, we found wireless internet at McDonalds. Thank Goodness!

We had more wine tasting and tour around hunter valley. We visited de Bortoli, the Verandah, Peterson House. We tasted organic wines like “rainchild”.

It was a great fun wine tour for all of us, the chance to savour local wine varieties is just unforgettable and definitely a must do in Hunter Valley. We didn't make too much effort for our other, we drove back to Temptus Two and grab a good meal at OISHI ( Japanese & Thai Restaurant ).
